A task is something to do

“Call the dentist” is a task. “Renew the insurance” is a task. Most of everyday life should stay this simple.

Tasks do not need a motivational speech or a project structure just because they exist.

A goal describes a change or outcome

A goal is bigger than one action: finish a digital product, build an emergency cushion, improve a part of your home, or create a calmer routine.

A useful goal includes why it matters, what success looks like and enough of a reality check to fit the life you actually have.

A goal action joins the two

Goal actions are ordinary, doable actions linked to a larger goal. They can appear in Today and Tasks so progress does not require visiting a separate goal-planning world.

If an action feels too big, use Make Smaller and create a first move that can genuinely be started.
